Planning
and engineering of the infiltration control system was completed in liaison
between EPTEC, the Client and Consultants prior to commencement of work.
High in-flows and water pressures required special materials and techniques
to achieve successful completion.
EPTEC completed the work on time and the tunnel was successfully opened
for traffic. The successful completion and reputation generated by EPTEC
in this tunnel led to further work on the Burnley Tunnel the following
year.
