Project Details  
Works have included a wide range of activities including:
- Blasting/Painting and decorative finishing
- Thermal insulation, ductwork and ships pipework
- Design and fabrication of composite structures
- Sheet metal work and ships furniture
- Pipework fabrication, instalation and testing


Eptec was commissioned by Thales Australia Pty Ltd to undertake corrosion protection work for the vessels - HMAS Darwin, HMAS Newcastle & HMAS Melbourne.

Aspects of the project are as follow;

  1. Surface Preparation
  2. Abrasive Blasting
  3. Hazardous Coating Management
  4. Application of Protective Coating

Existing underwater coatings completely removed by hydro-blasting before re-coating with full anticorrosive and antifouling systems.

Topsides, Superstructures and Decks prepared and re-coated to exacting Navy standards.

Old hazardous coatings in internal compartments removed and areas prepared and re-coated.
